In today’s video, I’m teaming up with Thai Select to show you two of Miami’s most authentic Thai restaurants! Come along with me as I go on a Thai street food tour in my hometown of Miami!

Restaurants that are certified by Thai Select in the U.S. must have least 60% authentic Thai food on their menu and use the same, or similar, cooking methods that are used in Thailand.
At my first restaurant, Rin Asian Cuisine, I met the cooks and headed into the kitchen. First, they made nam sod with ground pork, ginger, shallots, onion, and cilantro. Next was goong pad ma-khuw, which is shrimp with Japanese eggplant and basil. They briefly fried the eggplant to make the skin crispy.
Next was the kao soi, one of my favorite dishes from northern Thailand, which I loved in Chiang Mai. They made it with coconut milk, curry powder, fish sauce, and sugar, and poured the mixture over noodles and topped it with crispy fried katsu chicken.
At my table, I started with the Thai shumai, which contain crab, pork, chicken, mushrooms, crispy garlic, and cilantro. I loved the different flavors! The crispy garlic was outstanding!
Next was the nam sod, which was a smorgasbord of textures! The combination of ginger and spice was amazing, and the sweetness, spiciness, and tartness was on point! It was refreshing and nutty as well!
My next dish was the goong pad ma-khuw. The shrimp were unbelievable! It was sweet, and the eggplant had an amazing texture—crispy but soft on the inside.
Then, I tried the crispy duck with coconut milk, basil, peas, tomatoes, bell peppers, and pineapple. The coconut flavor of the curry took me back to Thailand. It was a flavor explosion in my mouth. It wasn’t spicy and everything perfectly complemented one another!
The star of the show was the kao soi. The katsu chicken was lightly fried and the sun noodles were perfect! It’s such a creamy and crunchy dish, and the curry takes it to the next level!
Then, I finished up with a dessert with longan, tapioca balls, and corn. It was creamy and gooey with nice gelatin balls! Then, I checked out their beautiful decor. They had Buddhas, Siam Kings, and some poignant sayings written in Thai!
Next, I headed to Siam Bistro, which was just a 5-minute drive north. There, I met Khun, who took me to the kitchen to make the Three Friendship (Thai barbecue chicken with papaya salad). She made some sticky rice and marinated the chicken in garlic, black pepper, oyster sauce, curry, and more. It looked so beautiful!
My favorite Thai dish is papaya salad, and she made some spicy for me! It contained green papayas, chilies, garlic cloves, and peanuts! Next was Pla Ma Muong (fried fish with tempura vegetables and curry sauce).
At my table, I started with the Three Friendships, which had a beautiful presentation! The chicken was amazing with the herbs and the sticky rice was nice and sticky, and the papaya salad was spicy, crunchy, and refreshing, just the way I like it! It was full of tropical flavors!
The Pla Ma Muong had an amazing Thai curry with red peppers and mango, which was super refreshing. The snapper was lightly battered and fried. It was crispy and crunchy! Next was longan tea, which was so good! The longan fruit in it is like a lychee. Then, I finished up with some yummy dragonfruit! All of the food came from Khun’s garden!
