We’re in the state of Michoacan, Mexico a place which is synonymous with carnitas, avocados and a strong indigenous food culture. In this video we take you on a massive Michoacan street food tour. We travel from Morelia to Quiroga a town famous for its carnitas- pork slow cooked in lard. Here we eat carnitas from Don Jaime Ayala who locals say make the BEST carnitas. His 5th generation family business is so popular and we can see why- the carnitas are sensational. We then head back to Morelia the capital city and take you on a street food tour of the city. From the famous gaspacho and enchiladas to a dish called morisqueta that is the definition of ugly delicious! We hope you enjoy this massive Michoacan street food tour.

- Carnitas at Don Jaime Ayala’s stall outside Plaza Don Vasco, Centro, Segundo, 58420 Quiroga, Michoacán. Get there early (we arrived at around 10:00am) Don Jaime is often sold out by 12:30pm.
- Gaspachos from Gaspachos El Guero de la Merced, Andrés Quintana Roo 192, Centro histórico de Morelia, 58000 Morelia, Mich. Open daily 10:30am to 8:00pm.
- Enchiladas placera at Antojitos Mexicanos “Carmelita”, Centro histórico de Morelia, 58000 Morelia, Michoacán. Open daily 9:00am to midnight.
