â We were visiting Whitechapel in Shoreditch and came across this wonderful mobile pizzeria with a fully functioning wood fire oven……..set in a tiny Vespa Piaggio “Tuk Tuk” Van (it’s a vehicle which is very similar in size to an Indian Rickshaw) we found it very difficult not to walk by because the freshly baked scent and aroma emanating from the “Artisan Bakehouse” Wood fire Oven was truly making us hungry.

* Garlic Butter.
* Homemade Pesto sauce (made using: Olive Oil, Parmesan, Fresh Basil, Garlic and Pine Kernals).
* Tomatoes.
* Red onions.
* Rocket salad leaves.
* Avocado (Lemon Juice, Olive Oil, Oregano, Black Pepper and Salt.
* Fresh Mozzarella Cheese (infused with garlic, Black Pepper, Oregano and Olive Oil).
* Finally it’s all given a generous drizzle of Olive Oil (infused with Garlic and Rosemary herb).
It’s worth mentioning that the freshly baked bread for the Piadina sandwich looked very similar to an Indian tandoori baked Naan.
We also ordered a Margarita pizza which was made with the following toppings:
* Homemade tomato sauce.
* Mozzarella.
* Sprinkled with Oregano.
Just as you would find at an Italian Pizzeria; they have a simple, uncomplicated (but delicious) menu with just the following five items on the menu:
* Margarita.
* Prosciutto Di Parma.
* Vegetarian.
and the Piadiana
with either *Di Parma or *Vegetarian.
Many thanks to the chef/patron Pizzaiolo Nick who welcomed us and graciously allowed us a privileged glimpse into his kitchen to watch the “pizza making” action.
Interestingly Nick is a Greek man born in Albania and jokingly says said he should be making something like Souvlaki, Moussaka or Taziki đ
