Eating CHINESE FOOD at Shanghai Pudong International Airport | Shanghai to Miami via Dallas with AA
New overview related to xian travel, chicago style pizza, and Street Food in Miami, Eating CHINESE FOOD at Shanghai Pudong International Airport | Shanghai to Miami via Dallas with AA.
After 10 incredible days in China, my trip to the Middle Kingdom was quickly coming to a close! I had such an amazing time exploring and eating my way through Shanghai, Suzhou, and Hangzhou. This trip changed the way I think about Chinese food. The food in each city was so different, but they were all outstanding! This trip just took Chinese food into my top 3 cuisines of all-time along with Indian and Italian! But my time in the country wasn’t over just yet – I still had to eat one last meal and catch my flight back to the U.S.
After arriving at Shanghai Pudong Airport, where I’d catch a 13-hour flight to Dallas and then take a 3-hour flight from there to Miami. It had been a long day already, as I had traveled from Hangzhou to Shanghai via bullet train, but I was only just getting started!
After I went through security, I looked for the Air China Business Class lounge. Unfortunately, my gold status I didn’t have access, so instead of chilling in the lounge, I went to look for something to eat in the food court. I went with a Chinese place selling dumplings and noodle soups. For 88 Yuan, or a little under $13 USD, I got 3 crispy shrimp dumplings, a spicy mushroom and noodle soup, and some cabbage.
I started with the shrimp dumplings and soy sauce, which were amazing! There were big chunks of shrimp inside the soft, slightly crispy dumpling. I added some chili flakes to the second one for some added spice and then added the chili flakes to the soy sauce for the third. It was so good!
Next was cabbage with soy sauce, which was very crunchy and refreshing. I love the vegetables in China. They’re always so refreshing and delicious!
Then I went with the thin noodles, which were super hot, so I had to let them cool off for a bit. The noodles came with a boiled egg, which reminded me of a Japanese ramen. I hadn’t had egg in any of my soups in China. There were also some delicious pieces of pork in it. You can’t go wrong with Chinese food in China. It’s good no matter where you go!
I wanted to eat some good, Chinese food, which is why I ate then. Otherwise, I would have had to wait a couple of hours for the in-flight meal on American Airlines, and their food is never great and it wouldn’t be Chinese.
After my meal, I stopped at a Tsingtao Beer bar. It’s the most popular beer in the world! I went with their stout. It was damn good and was made in a German brewing style. It was very smooth and cost 50 Yuan, or a little over $7 U.S.
From there, I boarded my flight at gate D87. I was seated on the emergency aisle. Ten hours in, it was pretty smooth. I slept most of it. After 13 hours, I landed in Dallas. My legs were stiff, so I was glad to walk around. I got my luggage and re-checked it in for my next flight. The line through Immigration took about an hour!
I stopped at Stampede 66 Restaurant for some Texas barbecue including brisket with barbecue sauce and coleslaw. The food was off the chain! I was glad to eat something good because the in-flight meal was horrible.
After my meal, I took the Skylink to the C Terminal and boarded my flight. It would be quick, just 3 hours. I met some friendly flight attendants along the way and after a 24+ hour travel day, I was back home in Miami!
