I hope you are all doing well! I love exploring new foods so I thought it would be fun to try a cuisine I have never tried before in this episode of QP EATS!
In this video, I visited Cuba 512 restaurant in South Austin, which specializes in authentic Cuban cuisine.
I ordered:
• Chicken Empanada ($3.50/each)- flaky pastry filled with shredded chicken in a tomato-based sauce
• Ham Croqueta ($3.00)- Cuban style croqueta seasoned with bell peppers, onions, garlic, & Cuban flavors. Served with homemade salsa picante
• Tostones Rellenos ($12.00/4 cups)- Four green plantain cups filled with cheese & served with a salsa picante sauce.
• Lecon Asado ($16.00)- traditional Cuban dish with pulled pork that has been marinated in mojo criollo and slow roasted. I ordered mine with Maduros (ripened plantains), yellow rice, and red beans.
• El Cubano Sandwich (12.00)- classic Cuban sandwich with roasted, shredded pork, ham, Swiss cheese, pickles, mustard, and butter on pressed Cuban bread. Jordan ordered his with sweet potato fries.
