Here at the View The Vibe, we get very excited when we hear of new restaurant openings in and around the city. But one particular new venue had us buzzing with anticipation and scrabbling to find a free night to feed our curiosity. ‘fishbar’ ticked all the right boxes for both Nicki and I as we are BIG on seafood and we were so relieved to find a menu that sailed away from the standard fare that we find all too often on our adventures.
Located at 217 Ossington Avenue, fishbar managed to plant itself right in the middle of one of the hottest areas of Toronto. We were lucky enough to get a prime spot at the front of the restaurant with the sun beating in through the open, farmhouse style doors. The second we arrived, we received the warmest of welcomes from the wonderful and very talented sommeliar, Jamie (even though we cheekily arrived 15 minutes before opening time!). The same hospitality was extended to us throughout our visit from owner William Tavares. It’s safe to say that these gents know how to show a girl a good time! Thank you a thousand times to them and their lovely staff… you can be assured that we’ll be back!!
