One of the busiest streets in the new town of Edinburgh and it’s super duper close to Waverly train station! The spot to go to for your shopping needs in the New Town and to stretch your feet, have a walk around Princes Street Gardens nearby!
Motel One
I booked this because of its proximity to the train station and the rave reviews! It’s in a great location, close to the shops and transport links. Only thing is that our heater was on full whack with no ability to change it so did feel like a roast turkey at one point – but other than that, a great stay!
Piemaker
For those looking for cheap eats and a taste of Edinburgh, Piemaker will sort you right out. There is a lot of different pies to choose from – we opted for the Scotch pie and the Bridie. Both were so good!

We went next door for some ice-cream post pie! The staff were really nice and the gelato was tasty!
Arthur’s Seat
Be aware that there are various routes based on different difficulty levels when it comes to hiking Arthur’s Seat. We went completely off-track and ended up climbing it. What an experience. The locals there are all really nice and happy to help point you in the right direction!
Fishers in the City
This restaurant kept coming up as a must visit seafood restaurant and oh boy, it didn’t disappoint. Ordered a hot shellfish platter, half a dozen of oysters and some salt and pepper squid.
Still thinking about the seafood there. Such great prices for such HUGE PORTIONS.
BrewLab Coffee
A place to go to for serious coffee drinkers and doughnut lovers! Great place to get some work done or to chill in after a long day of exploring.
