Nice is an iconic resort town in the south of France, that is beautifully situated on the Mediterranean. People from all over the world, including the likes of celebrities such as Elton John, come to play and relax.
We started our morning in Monte Carlo, just a short drive away, and were able to spend about half a day in the charming downtown area of Nice, France.
What perhaps surprised us more than anything was the food!! Having ate lunch on our ship before heading over, the Viking Star, we only had room for dessert. Looking at what people were eating… seafood was the big winner. Most restaurants clearly focused on the fresh local abundant seafood, and that’s what most people seemed to be ordering.
How do we know?
Nice, France has wonderful outside eating weather. Most restaurants we found had patios that bustling with hungry patrons. Seafood towers, clams, mussels, and other seafood delicacies filled their plates.
What we had… was dessert.
Check out the AMAZING Meringues and Croissant Nicoise, which were incredible!!
We thoroughly enjoyed it, and only regret not having more time to explore.
