Hello Everyone!
I hope you are all doing well! In this video, I decided to check out a restaurant that I recently discovered due to the controversy between it, Bento Picnic, and Picnik, another local, woman-owned business. Picnik, a much larger and more funded restaurant, has been suing Bento Picnic for trademark infringement and unfair competition. They claim the use of the word “picnic” in “Bento Picnic” is an infringement on their name “Picnik” and would confuse customers. In the lawsuit, Picnik also claims that Bento Picnic serves similar foods and this would cause unfair competition. I think it BS for a company to claim the word “picnic” when the correct spelling isn’t even in their business name. I think it is unfair for Picnik to bully a small business owner in the first year of her restaurant opening. Leanne, the owner is so unbelievably kind, it is horrible that she has been dealing with this ongoing lawsuit that is threatening her business which she has worked so hard to build.
Anyway, that is the back story of why I decided to check out Bento Picnic for this food vlog. Bento Picnic is such an amazing and delicious restaurant that has so much to offer on its own which is why I tried not to make the lawsuit the focus of this video because I genuinely think Bento Picnic is among the top 5 restaurants I’ve been to so far. Everything about this restaurant is charming and you can tell how much Leanne cares about delivering the best food and experience for her customers.

👉🏼 Bento Box ($12)- “Build Your Own” style menu so I got mine with Soba Noodles, Smoked Salmon, & added Tamagoyaki Egg ($3.50)
👉🏼 Curry Bowl With Chicken ($12)- Japanese curry with potatoes, carrots, scallions, quinoa rice, Fuki pickles, & a tomato salad.
👉🏼 Honey Butter Cornbread ($2/single)- super moist, housemade cornbread muffins with local honey and organic dairy.
👉🏼 Miso Chocolate Chip Cookies ($1.75/each)- soft-baked and chewy, made with miso, almonds, and chocolate chips
👉🏼Flourless Brownies ($3.25/each)- sugar gooey and melt in your mouth brownie made with dark chocolate, sweet potato, and almond butter
