And this one proved to be truly Amazing. In the Up Town area of New Orleans we discovered “Shawarma On-the-Go” a typical gas station on Magazine street with extra ordinary Delicious Mediterranean food. In fact, we heard while visiting that this wonderful gas station restaurant was highlighted in GQ Magazine as one of the top 10 gas station restaurants in the USA!
The restaurant opened a few years ago and is owned by a sweet couple, one from the middle east and the other a local Louisiana girl. The husband is an experienced restaurateur with a specialty in fantastic middle eastern flavors. Also, the prices are extremely affordable.
We definitely had a wonderful time and with the combo plate recommended we came away with food left over for late night snacking. This is one for the books as a MUST recommend and return to if you’re ever in the New Orleans area.
